Privacy and cookie policy

This policy explains what data is collected when you visit Noticias Salud3 (noticias.salud3.com), what it is used for, who it is shared with and how you can control it. It applies to readers in every country, including the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland (GDPR), Brazil (LGPD) and the United States.

1. Who is responsible

The site is run by the publisher of Noticias Salud3. For any privacy matter, reach us through the contact page.

2. Data we collect

  • Server logs: IP address, browser, page visited, date and time. Used for security and to keep the site running, and kept for a limited time.
  • Approximate country: from your IP address, using MaxMind's GeoLite2 database on our own server, we work out your country to show you the right language and the right cookie notice. We do not store your location.
  • Internal statistics: we count page views in aggregate (for example, "article X: 120 views") to learn what readers find useful. We do not use Google Analytics or other third-party analytics; if that changes, we will update this policy.
  • Contact form: the name, email address and message you choose to send. Used only to reply to you; never published or sold.

3. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use:

  • Necessary cookies: ns_lang (remembers your chosen language, 1 year) and cookie_consent (remembers your cookie choice, 6 months) and ns_sid (random session ID for the aggregate statistics, 30 minutes).
  • Third-party advertising cookies: set by the ad networks described below and, in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, only after you give consent.

You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer, and you can delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

4. Advertising

The site is funded by ads. They are currently served by Adskeeper, a native advertising network that may use cookies, device identifiers and your IP address to show ads, measure performance and prevent fraud. More information and choices in the Adskeeper privacy policy.

5. Affiliate links

Some pages may include affiliate links marked as sponsored, for example to Amazon or AliExpress. If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Those stores use their own cookies under their own policies.

6. Other third-party services

  • Photos come mostly from Wikimedia Commons and free image libraries and are hosted on our own server. Share buttons link to social networks, which only receive data if you click them.

Besides the news site, the salud3.com domain hosts a link-shortening service for registered members. If you use that service, its own terms and privacy policy, available in the members area, also apply.

7. Legal basis and your rights

We process data based on our legitimate interest in running a working, secure site, on your consent for advertising cookies where consent is required, and to answer your messages. You can ask to access, correct, delete, object to, restrict or port your data through the contact page, and you can complain to your data protection authority.

8. Children

This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
